Kellan Lutz Joins the cast of Twilight

Kellan Lutz has been added to the cast of Twilight as reported in an article on BD.com. There is no news of who he will be playing but we will update as soon as we get inforamtion. Here is his IMDb page.

Im kind of disappointed that some of the guys are cast more attractively than Edward when Edward is meant to be divine.
When i look at the pictures of the cast, Edward just doesnt stand out when he is supposed to.
I think he may be Jasper in which case… reasonably nice casting.

I don’t know why people think he’s an Emmett because Emmett has a really good build, and…that guy doesn’t. I’d say he’s probably going to be Jasper.

Of course, this might be an echo already but I an theorizing he was cast as Emmet. Which, I might add, makes me pretty content- because the boy looks like an Emmet.
Even if he was cast as Jasper, I would say he fits the role of a vampire head-on. I’m excited to see who else was cast.

Hm, I never thought him to play Jasper or Tyler….I suppose he’ll work for any of them! And it may seem like Robert is a bad choice to some people, but this is a movie…they can make him look however they want. Just because there is a few bad pictures of him doesn’t mean it can’t be fixed! lol

On the subject reguarding Robert being cast as Edward- I think he was a wise choice. Even though visually, everyone had a different concept of Edward I think Robert fits the sort of demeanor Edward has. And also, like Stephenie said, the boy looks like a vampire, there is no way around it.

This guy looks like an Emmett. That was my first thought at least. I hope he is! Google him…there are some shirtless photos of him, and he looks pretty athletic.

I think we can safely eliminate him being Jasper as he doesn’t even come close to the type being ask for in stand-in casting.
My money is on Emmett and I am in process of trying to verify this.
The other possibility is Tyler.
I think he’s a little young looking to play a teacher or Charlie’s pal on the police force.

Definately Emmett. At least, that’s who he looks like to me. If he is Emmett - I LOVE HIM IN THE ROLE! But that’s still a huge IF.
P.S. still thinking Ashely Greene as Alice is the best character cast so far! tho if this guy’s Emmett, he’s really good

Also, i know this probably doesn’t go here, but i just want to say that i was against Robert as Edward, but i stared at his pic for awhile and i think he could be a good Edward. He is a good actor. I’m really satisified with all the other casting decisions that were made.

I agree - the Kellan guy would be either a good Emmett or Jasper - I’m leaning toward Jasper. That was my first thought. But Jasper or Emmett would be great!
But.. I’m looking at the casting.. and I have to say….
Quite honestly, I don’t like many of them. Robert Pattison as Edward… well… he’s okay in some pictures - like the alternate ending of Vanity Fair. =) He’ll be a pretty good Edward.
Maybe if the James and Carlise switched roles it would be better. That’s closer, at least in my mind.
So far, none of these people are fitting my mental image… Alice comes the closest. I’m waiting for the trailer, but…
But hey, if they get a good Jacob, Jasper, and Emmett, I might just change my mind… =)

Don’t kill me, but… he’s more of a Jasper in my opinion than an Emmett. I think that Emmett should be bulkier. I don’t know… this guy’s more of a skinny pretty guy to me than that big, muscled beauty Emmett should be.

He just goes really well with the actress that will play Rosalie.
A funny thing is that Jessica is prettier than Rosalie!!!!
I thought it was supposed to be the other way around.
Oh, well!!! She is a good actress but I can’t see her as Rosalie even if they dye her hair blond, the physical appearance of the character is just not there. I guess they are not following the “manual” exactly.
I love the pick for Alice, just like I imagined, very happy with all the choices accept Rosalie.

I totally thought he would be a perfect emmett but then I looked at some of the pictures that people said looked like jasper and now I have no idea!!! I think he’d be perfect for either one but he’s definitely not a tyler, too hottt!!!
As for the rest of the casting, I’m pretty happy, I love Robert!!!! I don’t really like Nekkie Reed for rosalie or the guy playing eric but whatever… And I though Victoria had straight, bright red hair, I guess they can change that though.
All and all I am completely ecstatic, people are mad at me cause it’s all I talk about!!!

when i first saw him i automaticly thought of emmett but on occasion i can see jazz but i’m still hoping for emmett. he looks to built for jasper and he’ll probably go through training to be even more built like robert is doing. this is the best week eva! like they’ve almost given the whole cullens and victoria (which i’m thrilled about) i’m not so thrilled for alice or rose but i can just get over that cause they’ll be pretty good in the end because of all the things they can do with tec. stuff now! and yea i still think emmett!

The fact that they are putting so many names in the casting list, even for some of the relatively smaller parts (A Tony-nominated actress for Jessica? Who is in how many scenes?) gives me such great hopes for the movie. It means that they are taking this seriously, and hopefully it will turn out a pretty good movie. They’re thinking about more than the perfect look for the part, they’re considering acting ability, too.
This guy… Well, what choices do we have left? Charlie, Emmett, Jasper, Tyler, Laurent, Billy, Sam, Jacob and whatever smaller characters they added. Not Jacob or Billy. Not Charlie, too young. Definitely a vampire. I’m leaning towards Emmett.
I’m hoping that the people who don’t scream a character at me when I see their picture will scream their characters when I see the previews. I am so psyched, now. Before, it was just, “yeah, they’re making another movie based on an awesome book that probably won’t hold a candle to the book, but might be a decent movie”.
I want more casting to come out! I am desperate now!

I cannot believe they chose Nikki Reed as Rosalie! She’s completely opposite from what Rosalie is supposed to look like.
And as for Lutz, I think he’s Emmett.
He’s perfect for the part, in my opinion.
As for Jasper, I picture someone with blonder and maybe scruffier hair.
I’m sort of scared for who they’re going to cast as Jasper. He’s one of my favorite characters.

Okay here’s my opinion on the casting:
okay first off, this guy is clearly emmett (don’t shoot me if I’m wrong). Umm I’m an actress myself and I understand about talents, but in the end it really comes down to looks. Well at least with the cullens it does.
Rosalie is NOTHING like I pictured her, and Carlisle… whats going on there?? Alice is suppost to be small and pixie like… Esme and Victoria are awesome choices by far
As for Robert: He is EXACTLY like I pictured my Edward. Everytime I watch GOF I just scream at how perfect they chose that.
I never knew Eric was asian… but w/e, he’s still awesome. Jessica is soooooo similar to the way stef discribes her that it’s crazy!!
I’m sort of scared but sort of excited… I guess there is make-up… and hair dye… wow can’t wait to see how they perfect Rob even more and then all you people who think it is wrong will be shocked at how magnificent he looks!!!!
All in all, I guess they all really did great at their auditions!

I’m going to have to go against most of the group and say I think he’d be perfect for Jasper! He has the blond hair and I think he would look cuter with Ashley vs. Nikki. As far as the rest of the cast, I’m totally happy with it, but I was suprised about Rosalie but I’m sure those in charge know what they are doing. And Robert Pattinson is by far the hottest person in the whole group!!!! Love Him!!!

I’m so glad that the cast is being announced! I don’t see the point of not announcing who Kellan is playing, though. Why do they torture us like that?

When I first saw the picture, I immediately thought….JASPER. But, after seeing the description for the extra….they say Jasper as 5′5″ 130lbs and longer brown hair. I don’t think this guy fits that description. So, more than likely…EMMETT.
I Love Robert Pattinson as Edward. Everyone else cast is fine except for Nikki Reed as Rosalie. What a freaking huge mistake. Whatever…I guess it doesn’t matter since she is the director’s step-daughter. I just can’t believe they had to choose that part in particular. She is NOT Cullen material. She could have been an Angela or even Jessica if she wanted to be a part in the movie.

Can totally see him as Emmett. I know some people are having troubles seeing the actors as their cast role. REMEBER PEOPLE! They are chosing their actors on their ACTING skills, and will also have hair, eye, and body enhancements to make them LOOK like the characters. You have to picture them with what they look like (physically) in the book. Their are a lot of changes to be made. I think Rob as Edward is the best! Lets just hope they cast Steven Strait for Jacob *fingers crossed*

I don’t know… But he definitely a vampire. He’s too old to be a student. I’m hoping he’s Emmett, because I just don’t ’see’ Jas[er like that… You know? This guy looks… sporty.
I LOVE the cast, but I’m hesitant abour Rosalie. I really want to see her blonde with makeup to make her look paler and such… She has potential.
As for Carlisle… Think about it. If the guy died his hair blond, he’d be perfect. He’s absolutely gorgeous and he also looks considerably older than the others like Esme, but still young. He’s the kind of guy who looks like he could be 35 or 21…
Alice is perfest. She had an innocent quality, which is needed for that part I think. And I really hope they have her hair at least shoulder length, if not how the book describes it. There’s to many long-haired girls in the film already. Alice is supposed to stand out. Plus, her hair represents her stay in the assylum (sp?) which it vital to the end.

This guy isn’t Jasper. The actor who plays Jasper is 5′5″ and 130 lbs according to the flyer for stand-ins. Kellan Lutz is 6′1″ and 185 lbs. Too much of a difference for it to be Jasper.
He’s gotta be Emmett.

Hi everyone, I thought I might tell you my ultimate I am WAY to obsessed with twilight moment that happened today:
So I was telling a friend of mine about the cullens being cast (him looking decidedly scared) and I was sort of ….bouncing. So in the midst of my excitment I fell over (on a flat surface) and broke my toe (totally a Bella moment)

Sarah if you go to the host page on SM site seth explains how to be able to read it and attaches a link. You have to download a new version of Adobe reader (I coudldn’t read it at first either) I just finished it and now I am SO excited to read the whole book! WOW what a fun day, tons of cast announcements and chapter 4 of the “Host”.

Agreed! I think this guy could be either Emmett or Jasper, though I’m leaning more towards Emmett. As Tyler? Naw, they wouldn’t waste such a great body on him. Vampires are gods, they have first priority. Hehe.
I’m very disappointed with the choice for Rosalie, and like quoted above, I hope that it is just a rumor.

Okay, so this is what I personally I think of when I see these choices.
Kristen Stewart/ Bella Swan - I know her from playing the daughter in Panic Room. She was a pretty good actor, even back then. I really like her as a choice for Bella. I’m sure she’ll do good.
Robert Pattinson/ Edward Cullen - Knowing him as playing Cedric, I realize, he’s an amazing actor. And like many others, sure, he’s not quite what I pictured, but, considering all the amazing things I’ve read, yeah. He’s the Twilight Movie Edward. Go him. ..That sounds sarcastic - it’s not. ^^;;
Justin Chon/ Eric Yorkie - My only experience with this particular actor is when he was the “rockstar†in the O.C. Sure, he too may not be quite what I pictured, but, Eric’s not a main character, so, build a bridge.
Anna Kendrick/ Jessica Stanley - I’ve never seen anything she’s been in or whatever, but she fits what I thought Jessica would look like.
Cam Gi..Gigandet?/ James - Is that right? ..Anyways. He. Is. Perfect. For. James. -NodNod.- He has this intense almost evil look about him. Plus, he’s an amazing actor. W00t. -Fangirl hand spazz-out- xD
Michael Welch/ Mike Newtone - As Mike? If the name fits. Haha.
Peter Facinelli/ Carlisle Cullen - Tommy from Riding in Cars with Boys - that’s all I have to base his acting skills off of. He was pretty good. Maybe not exactly how I pictured Carlisle, but, I think he’s a pretty good choice.
Nikki Reed/Rosalie Hale - I’ll have to agree with the others when I say she’s probably not quite who I expected. She certainly doesn’t look much like how Rosalie is described, but her hair can be dyed peoples. She’s a really good actor. -NodNod.- She was in the O.C - That’s where I know her from.
Ashley Green/Alice Cullen -She looks just right for Alice. Never seen her in anything, but if she was chosen, she must be good.
Elizabeth Reaser/ Esme Cullen - She was in Grey’s Anatomy as Ava, no? She’s a really good actor, you have to admit. And she fits what I pictured Esme to look like.
Rachel Lefevre/Victoria - The only thing I’ve seen her in is when she was a ghost in Charmed. And she was pretty scary, I’ll haveta admit. I think she’ll be a good Victoria.
Now the real question is, who exactly will play Jasper, Emmett, Jacob, Laurent and Charlie?

I’m really liking the cast! I think the characters were really well thought out and they picked people who could do the role well -
EXCEPT NIKKI READ. It is so WRONG. And I know that the acting is the important thing. But it’s ROSALIE. She is about HOW SHE LOOKS. Nikki is pretty - in her own Latino Hotness way. But she isn’t classic blond ice-queen beautiful. And dying her hair or giving her a wig would take away from what IS pretty about her! Which is her brunette hair, brown eyes and tan skin.
I think Catherine did the wrong thing here.

I just don’t think he is bulky enough to play Emmett. More of a Jasper i think.
I wish they would swap the Carlisle & James actors that would work better IMO.
I didn’t like the Nikki for Rosalie either at first but i saw a pic of her on the message boards of Nikki that had been photoshopped to have blonde hair and topaz eyes and it made me change my mind.
I also really hope that they give Alice short hair in the movie i think its a pretty significant part of the story as to why its that short.

But now that I think about it, and look at Rob he does cream vampire, and they’re going to really vamp him up. He’s going to be HOT when they’re done. No doubt about it.

Kellan is definitely an Emmett. He’s so freaking adorable! The dimples, the buff frame… he’s physically too big to be a Jasper in my opinion. I’m completely excited to see that we’re almost done with the casting.

He doesn’t look like Jasper. He’s too muscular to be Jasper. I don’t really want him as Emmett, though. I would prefer him in a smaller role. I saw him in Stick It, and he’s not that attractive or a good actor.

I do not like the casting at all, and I think the movie will ruin the entire seires. Bella and Edward are appropriote but the rest cannot fufill the part. Im not seeing this horrid movie and if i do, popcorn will be thrown at the screen. Alot of my friends love this series and now because of this one of them is dead. I swear i will rip apart whoever casted these freaks.

TOTALLY agree with ana and karli.the girl who plays rosalie seems to be the olny one that most people are really getting upset about.in my opinion,i think she looks like a drag-queen/hooker.too much makeup!but the important thing is that she can act.hollywood can take care of the rest.

WOW! this is moving so incredibly fast! i am super excited for the movie.

I think that he looks like an emmet.
But i’m disapointed in the casting.
Bella and Edward are perfect, But rosalie= big NO NO! Esme should look more motherly and more sharper.
I always pictured the cullen pamily to have sharp jawlines, and high cheek bones.
I picture alice the way I look.
Small, heart shaped face.
Hair like mine, like a pixie, spiked up a little.
And Carlisle. Wtf? Carlisle should look like :tall, broad shoulders, blonde hair, bright blue eyes. But mature.
I’m not so happy with the castings yet, but oh well.

i love all of the books and i think rosalie is a big NO-NO!!! i know that they can dye her hair and everything but, i had always pictured her alot different.
alice is absolutely perfect! they couldn’t have done a better job of choosing someone. it is how i always pictured her in my mind. i cant wait to see the movie!!!
oh! one other thing, edward and carlislie arent how i pictured them either. i dont know, thet could have been just a bad picture.

Unless they dyed his hair practically black and were able to make it curly and somehow inject dimples into his face.
Yea THEN he could be Emmett.
I think he’s gonna be Jasper.
However, I personally imagined Jasper to have softer features. And I think that Edward COULD POSSIBLY work.
But, they’ll have to have a lot of touch ups to the point where his perfections doesn’t make him creepy in the least.
It’ll be difficult for sure.

I think that they casted very well!!!!! I mean no one can be Edward or Bella it is impossible they did pretty well though. It is very hard to cast the most beautiful people known alive. In the book all of their features are perfect and they turn heads. The cast does turn heads they are all very appealing.
OMFG i pre ordered the fourth book Breaking Dawn i am getting it August the second!!!! I love all of the actors that were casted for the movie so i am excited. Also i bought the Eclipse special edition and it brought T-Shirt iron ons and i am going to wear them for the movie i am sooooo excited!!!

I think all the Cullens that are casted are freackin hot. Robert looks amazing, though sometimes he can look a little high. Kellan is perfect for Emmett. Exactly how i imagined. so is everyone else, cept jessica. anyawy, did you knnow that in the movie, the cullens already know about james, laurent, and victoria before the 3 meet bella! and victoria is in the prom scene! kellan lutz is the hottest man ever! he was in 90210 AND stick it. he is so perfect for this role! agg. im drooling just thinking about him! so amazing. and jackson rathbone was a perfect tourtured soul. i love him, he really cares about film. and did you see thirteen? nikki reed wrote that with kathrin hardwick when the was 13! robert pattison has so much emotion! peter faceneli was so perfect! elezabeth reazer was on the ex list and greys anatomy. shes so kind. ashlee green was great, espeshaly in the fight scene. but kristen stewart, RUINED THE MOVIE! SHE DIDNT EVEN CARE ABOUT THE ROLE! i think she is a good actress, but thats why im so dissapointed. i cant wait till new moon!
