One of our fondest memories from our April trip to the Portland set of Twilight was witnessing first hand the camaraderie between the 3 young men who represent the Quileute Tribe. Without further ado the Twilight Lexicon is proud to present

G - Lana Veekner gave an excellent explaination as to why that casting choice was made. Her interview will give you good insight as to why they went with Taylor verses Krys.
That being said, Krys is one awesome guy. I am certianly glad he will be around for more films.

Is it awful that I kinda think I might have preferred the kid playing Embry to be Jacob? I think he’s a lot cuter..plus he looks more authentic Native American..

this is great! the wolf pack boys all seem really well-suited to their roles. i love that taylor pops in at the end, i wonder if he has a complex about being the only quileute with fake hair haha.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAH THIS WAS SO CUTE! I officially love Krys and Solomon omg they are perfect. And with Taylor tagging along towards the end of the video, oh man. I especially loved Krys’s "I havent hit puberty yet." That got a good laugh out of me. I cant wait to see this bonfire scene!
~~Unfortunately because of the terrible weather, the bonfire scene was cut and replaced with a parking lot scene. The tide was literally washing the camera equipment away. Catherine did a fantastic job of salvaging the scene in spite of the weather. If you check one of our earlier videos of just Catherine, she even mentions the change and how quickly she had to think on her feet because of the bad weather.

Cocoa - I get why Taylor was picked over Krys, but I guess what I meant was that he seems like he would fit the character of Jacob well. Maybe not as a lead actor in a movie, but he’s very close to the "real life" Jacob I pictured while reading the novels.
That being said, I’m not trying to put down any of the actors. I’m pleased with the casting of all the characters, and Taylor makes a great "movie" Jacob. Hope that makes sense.

The WOLF Pack with their secret language and secret handshake. I love it. But not so much Iron maiden and Metallica HA ha. What a fun vid Lexicon. That’s not something MTV would ever show us. Like cause they weren’t there that day and you were. SWEET
I really do hope the Twilight movie makes good on its promise to make the best movie possible and that it’s a hit so we can see NEW MOON on the big screen. There is so much story in the Wolf Pack and IT NEEDS TO BE TOLD!

Dang it! I really wish that Krys had stayed on as Jacob, I prefer him looks and personality wise over Taylor actually. Geez, that’s really disappointing. Now my dreams have been crushed… as were his when they booted him as Jake. I feel so bad for him, he definitely needs some sort of gift from the fans.

Yay! I love Taylor! He is a very great Jake. I wasn’t expecting Embry to be that cute. Krys and Solomon are great for their parts! I can’t wait for the movie!!!

For what it’s worth, that isn’t “oh, my Edward”…that’s “oh, my EMBRY”, which is something I’ve been saying for ages now. I’m a hugehuge pack-fan and Embry has always been one of my favorite characters - SO, LEX, THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU, SO MUCH!

Yeah, thanks to them, I got to laugh which has been nice to do in the midst of sadness. It’s really surreal, though, to watch Solomon, Krys and Taylor together because it’s like they jumped off the pages of the book and materialized. Their bond is already there and it’s so, so apparent. It’s overwhelming — in a great way, of course — to see them interact with one another, knowing that if New Moon is adapted to film, this is only the beginnings of the Wolf Pack’s chemistry.
And, yeah, I definitely agree. Solomon’s very handsome and he’s obviously got an incredible personality. A great Sam and he’s gonna make a great catch to some lucky lady someday. The boys are good looking as well, they’re adorable. All in all, it’s just great to see all of them and dear God, sorry for this insanely long reply comment.

Also, Dano, if every twilight fan goes to see this film, which i know they will, then i’m sure that they will make the sequals (providing Stephenie and the actors are up for it). i mean come on, look out many of us are out there. I know that i will be at the movie theater every night that twilight is playing. so right there will be about $100 or more and that’s just 1 person. now multiply that to the millions and millions of fans worldwide. they would have to make a sequal.

Wow thanks so much for braving the apparently crappy weather and getting all this amazing footage! Maybe this is just me, but as soon as Taylor was cast I always imagined him a little younger, like maybe as Seth Clearwater, though I feel Taylor would be a bit too "known" to play that small of a part, if that makes sense. I totally see Krys more as Jacob but understand and love that Taylor got the part. Cocoa, is there any more information somewhere about Krys/Embry? And seriously, I’m loving how dedicated Solomon is to his role! It’s awesome and now I’m actually excited to see New Moon the movie because we’ll have a lot more screen time with the pack!
Krys is not represented by an agent. His part in the film is very very small. I expect he will gain representation by New Moon as his part increases. But until then, he’s just a kid that got to play on set for a day. He had a blast, everyone loved him. I will make some calls and see if he would like to comment on this new found fan admiration. ~Cocoa

Aw, they’re so sweet together! Soloman isn’t really the type of guy that you’d see and think he was attractive, but then when he starts speaking you realize how beautiful his features are. And Krys seems really sweet, just like how I pictured Embry. He has spiderman underwear!!! Hahaha! I laughed so hard when they showed that! I’m glad that Taylor did his research, I’ve thought he’d be a perfect Jacob all along, he looks just like a miniature steven strait, I just hope that for future films (if they do them) he fills out to play the part perfectly! Thanks, Lex, I love all of these interviews. They’re so real and you get to see what the people are really like!

I do believe that Taylor will make a better Jacob than Krys would have… not only because of his acting experience, but he really just has more charisma. He’s got more sunshine in him - could anyone else see that? He came into the shot and it just lit up. We the audience need to believe that the boy playing Jacob is someone who could bring Bella out of her deep depression, and I see that in Taylor’s smile and his mischievous eyes. Let’s hope he grows a lot in the next year or two… !

I LOVE the Pack! They are sooo cute together! Jacob and Embry rock! I was a little nervous about Sam in the bginning, because he didn’t look as ‘gang leader’as I imagined him, but this totally showed me how great he is going to be! He really did his home work!

Quil has not been cast yet. If you read Lana Veekner’s interview on our casting page she talks about the fact that they have seen many native american kids who they are looking forward to working with in subsequent movies. Quil will, I’m sure, be one of those characters. ~Cocoa

Goodness, you ladies are fabulous.
Okay, so the wolf pack has just heightened my anticipation for this movie even more, and I didn’t think that was possible. I can’t believe how perfect every member of the cast it, no matter how small the part (as proven by Embry). Of course this is my opinion, and I always adapt to picturing the actors as the characters in the books, but still! It’s downright mindblowing!!
Every time Taylor pops into one of these little videos, my love for him increases. He is adorable.

Quil hasnt been cast yet? Isnt he at the Bonfire in the book where Bella meets Jacob? I thought he was there with Jacob ans Sam…so wouldnt that mean he should be in the scene of the Bon fire? maybe it wasnt specific in the book who exactly was there bu I though quite a few kids from La Push showed up and figured one of them was Quil.

Loved it. The werewolves are my favourite (sorry Cullens) as they look they’d be so much fun to hang out with. Feel sorry for them when they get to new moon though, running around without tops on in freezing cold and rain can’t be fun.
Seriously love them though and i knew there was a reason i had a crush on Embry in the books. Krys is so lovely and they all seem genuinely nice people (as cheesy as that sounds).

At first, I was wondering why Embry was getting so much attention in the comments. I have now seen the light. Lol.
Honestly though, Embry absolutely gorgeous. I was a little off on the cast choices, but now I actually cannot wait until the movie. Solomon Trimble isn’t bad looking either. The wolf pack is great! Now I wonder how Jared and Quil will look like, if they look anything like Embry and Sam. Oh boy..

Whoa, Embry was totally not what I expected. Glad he’s hot though, if he weren’t I would have been so sad :’(.
When my boyfriend watched this with me, he got jealous ‘cus I said Krys and Taylor were hot and I’d catch Sam later in the woods xD. To make him feel better I told him that he can be a totally hot vampire with a cute name(his name’s William :P).

I don’t know why people keep saying that they’d prefer Krys of Taylor as Jacob - He fits the whole ‘cultural’ part more, I’ll give you that, but Taylor just looks like his skin is already blistering
But I do LOVE all of the Quileute Pack! They are all insanely cute! No offense to anyone, but I pictured Sam taller… But nonetheless, each actor fits the character perfectly in every way
- Solomon looks wise yet young and resembles a leader
- Krys looks like the cute kind of funny guy you would kid around with like a best friend
- Taylor looks like he has blistering skin, is really cuteand looks like he could fight a bear with a grin on his face!

everytime i see taylor lautner on videos, i find i’m just beaming. that guy just has the “x” factor! there is something real there. he makes it hard not to just run for “jacob”.
that being said, these 3 native american actors are outstanding for good looks and charisma. “sam” is a wonderful example of the more mature leader…. very attractive.

I have been pretty disappointed in the casting for Jacob. He is my favorite character and though Im sure Taylor Lautner is a good actor…he’s no Jacob Black. Krys totally fits the Jacob role. Taylor Lautner is too “Ryan Seacrest” aka “metro” to be a kid from the rez, much less a kid from the rez who builds his own car, fixes up motorcycles and morphs into a werewolf to protect his people. I am truly disappointed in the casting choice for Jacob Black. Krys is almost dead-on to what I would have pictured the guy playing Jacob would look/act like. Wow, what a tragic casting choice.

I love Taylor Lautner. Ironically enough my name is Taylor too. Ha. I really think that Krys will bring Embry to life very well. I think he could have played Jacob too but i love Taylor Lautner so much so i am glad that he has the part. I am really happy that Krys is still part of the movie though. Now he is what i picture as embry along with Solomon as Sam. Once i saw them i could not get them out of my head when i thought about their characters. I love the casting choice. I just wish that Krys a a slightly bigger role. I cant wait to see them in New Moon. Taylor Lautner is perfect though!!!!! LOL. Twilight Lexicon is the bomb!
