MTV Has Catherine on New Moon

    By Twilight_News | December 1, 2008

MTV talked to Catherine about her involvement in New Moon.
The coverage asks Catherine the questions that much of main stream media has missed, and you really want to know.

EDITED:  There’s also a bit of a follow up on the Movie blog.

They should cast RUPERT FRIEND as “ARO” in the next film!!! He’s so awesome looking, why not? :)

I hope Catherine doesn’t change the whole perspective of New Moon.I hope to see all the movies through Bella’s eyes.Otherwise, it would change everything.

I know a lot of people would disagree with me, but I hope Catherine isn’t the director for New Moon. Ever since I heard that “hopefully” the director for Marie Antoinette would be the director for NM I can’t see Catherine for the next one.
New Moon is my favorite book, I hope it comes out good :/

i really really really really really really hope they don’t do that change of perspective thing. knowing what edward is doing will ruin all the tension and suspense and just EVERYTHING that makes new moon what it is.

She kind of scares me: “Well, I definitely do not think they should look like those old dudes, like in an old ‘Star Trek’ episode where they are just wearing robes from some Universal [movie prop] closet. We’re working on that,” she laughed.

great. so the Volturi will end up like James and Billy? James looked more like one of the wolves than a vampire (my boyfriend thought he was a werewolf dude until i corrected him) and Billy was all, “G-Unit” … Not to mention she wanted to give Edward long hair - EW!

I mean, I loved Twilight, and the camera-work was really cool, but … the Volturi are very important people, they’re just archaic by choice, I want them to be “the old dudes” because that’s how the story goes and it works.
If people who haven’t read the books come to see New Moon for an action flick then let them leave disappointed by old farts in robes - at least it will be true to the original story.

      Woops - rant complete!

i kind of agree that they can’t tell the whole story from bella’s perspective. that would make for a REALLY RAELLY boring movie. it would be like a full hour of bella sitting there moping around and being all zombie like…anyone else agree?

I hope they do not rush through New Moon, like they did with Twilight.
If they bring Edward into the perspective it should be as flashbacks.
I would like to see more about the Cullens mainly Alice.
A little more on the “love” between Edward and Bella. If I didn’t read the books I would not know about their undying devotion for each other.
Yes, wow “Rupert Friend as Aro”

i think they should cut a bit of bellas moping around and concentrate on the wolves and then come back to edward… i doubt they have time to make it too detailed

i dont think they should be showing edward while he’s away because that would amp up the tension better for us until we finally see him sparkling or close to sparkling in the plaza. after that we’d all be like “OMG!” *swoon* and it would have a better effect than if we were to know whats going on with him throughout bella’s misery.

i also think that they should add a little bit more action because the book was kinda slow and had too much of bella’s depression that it would not be easily made into a good movie. however, i really hope they emphasize on her depression enough and on their love as well because they didnt show that enough in the first one and so it wasnt as good as it should have been.

What is it with the action everyone is dying to see?! I’m sorry but the only action in the series was in Eclipse. And really this whole series is a love story and the struggle to be with someone that isn’t like you. The action scene in Twilight wasn’t bad but I really didn’t care for it because it wasn’t in the book. Bella passed out and woke up in the hospital. CH keeps wanting to change the real story and just make it into her own. I don’t have hope for this movie because they already kept the same screenwriter and this will not be the same story at all.

Yolanda you hit the nail on the head!!! Catherine and Rosenberg are both falling into the Hollywood trap trying to turn the Twilight Saga into something that is not. An action film!!! As you said Twilight is about the “against all odds” love of Edward and Bella. He in fact is so in love that he is willing to leave his heart behind to keep her safe…Let’s face it we all knew this at the beginning of New Moon…all of us except maybe Bella who thought that he did not care for her. Silly girl!!! Hardwick and Rosenberg need to understand the basic premise of Twilight just like the thousands of Twilighters out there who love the saga for what it is, a “love story”.
