    Book News

    By Twilight_News | December 14, 2008

One teacher talks about the Twilight Saga and the value of reading.

NOVEL NOVICE Another teacher, Tiffani Truitt of Novel Novice, writes a paper that explores how female fans, particularly female Twilight fans, are misrepresented in various popular culture outlets.

This is a result of two main issues: (1), the line between fan and fanatic is often difficult to define, thus large fandoms are often written off as obsessive, dangerous and unable to think for themselves. (2), Female fandoms suffer this cruel and uninformed misrepresentation the most. While society has accepted the buying power of female consumers, it repeatedly tries to write off this power by declaring it a product of superficial desires.

Here’s where Stephenie’s books are this week.

yay im first! I think it’s weird that New Moon is ahead of Twilight on the Wall Street Journal’s list… most people like Twilight more than New Moon (**NM Spoiler** mostly due to the lack of Edward)

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinal has an article about the Twilight movie and its lack of “cat fights,” so to speak. http://www.jsonline.com/entertainment/movies/35998144.html

I work at a Borders store and we can’t get any copies of Eclipse, the distributor is completely out and we have to wait for them to reprint more!
