    Movie News

    By Twilight_News | December 27, 2008

The New Moon Movie has made Fandango’s Most Anticipated Blockbusters of 2009 list. The best part is that the lists are done by both male and female readers and BOTH sexes are looking forward to New Moon next year.

Think it’s a sure thing that a popular book will be made into a movie?  Odds are it will take years if it ever happens. Reading this story in the Boston Globe lets us know just how lucky it was that Twilight made it to film.

hahaha the guys’ reactions (comments in fandango) to having NEW MOON on the “guys list” are hilarious. such a typical sexist reaction. I’m sure there’s a lot of closet TwilightGuys out there.

Hooray for New Moon! I for one like that both genders can support Twilight. For a long time, YA books with female leads (Anne of Green Gables; Little Women) are seen only as girls’ books, whereas YA books with male leads (Tom Sawyer, Huck Finn, Harry Potter) are *not* seen as just boys’ books. The Twilight saga is a step in the right direction.

I can’t wait to see like half the m ovies on the girls list, especially New Moon, Harry [Potter, and The Lovely Bones. They are all such good books, hope they will be good movies

I didn’t know that The Lovely Bones was being made into a movie. Now I’m really excited for that too!

I’ve never eveen heard of The Locely Bones. Is it a book? I might need to read it….

I’m NOT going to see New Moon without Taylor, unfortunately. I want to but without him… I don’t.

And I think that the whole gender thing isn’t done that way. Honestly, female leads usually are girl movies- that’s just the way it is. It just depends on the movie! Like…. Lindsey Lohan for example. I don’t like her but she’s just an example. Mean Girls, a movie she stars in, is a girl movie. C’mon, it’s a chick-flick. Herbie Fully Loaded on the other hand, could be for boys or girls. Don’t over-react. Really, it’s not done intentionally. Most people don’t think like “It’s about a girl so that means it’s a girl movie.”
