EW has a new article about the fate of Taylor.
"This week, Summit Entertainment is expected to announce a big casting choice for the next film based on Stephenie Meyer’s wildly successful series of vampire romance novels."

But this doesn’t seem very reliable. It says Copon was never approached for the role, when he definitely was, he said so in interviews. The article says Taylor is the only person they’re looking at for the role, which isn’t true…

OH MY GOSH. EEEEEEEPPP!!! I am so nervous and scared for the official answer. I was squeling the whole time I was reading the article. Cross fingers for Lautner!

I have some speculations on this one…
*Could this have been promted by the fact he changed his look? Hollywood and roles are all about image, so maybe the unkept look he’ll have as he grows out his hair won’t allow him to play the part…?
*Maybe he wanted to step back and take some mental health time after his image has been saturated all over the media/internet. I don’t blame him! Plus NM & Eclipse being filmed back/back…. I love him to death and want him to stick around for a while, so maybe this was a good call.
Either way, we still have Little Ashes and How to Be- which he will be GREAT in. Summer House, I don’t think he’s in it enough to prove himself as an actor, but the other two– THOSE are the ones I’m dieing to see!!!
Oh yes and- fingers crossed for Taylor! What if they cast TWO Jacobs? Taylor at first then that other dude (scorpion king guy I think?)for after their movie night with Mike… That would be crazy…

Wow they say Copon and Steven Strait haven’t been approached and they aren’t looking for anyone else. That’s very interesting. A lot of people have been praying for Taylor.

Wow. I really hope this turns out to be true. It would really be the easiest and best way to just keep Taylor. Work with what they already have. 95% or more of the fandom already loves him. I’m nervous now, I wonder when this week that will be.

I am hoping, well praying that they keep Taylor, because I mean come on, with technology you can make him look older and taller. Besides I have been rereading Eclipse and in Chapter 14 Bella says that Jacob looked like the boy that had been her best friend before all the werewolf nonsense. I don’t know if they would put that scene in the third movie when they make it, but if they do, how do you make the older guy look like Taylor. I say just get over with it and please keep Taylor. I see no one else as Jacob, it’d be hard to see someone else play the role. So, just keep Taylor.

I saw the movie and i instantly liked him,his persona strikes me like this bubbly, out going kid. I think summit should keep him since most of the fans love him. He also kind’s of strikes me as how Jacob was in the book.
I hope they really stick with him, I’m sure he is training like crazy and also I donb’t think it would be fair to get rid of him. Thanks.

If they replace Taylor, I really hope its Steven Strait. Copon seems so arrogant, and comes across like a jerk, and Jacob is soooo not that way!!

I just went and saw Twilight for the first time today (I know, I know, what was I waiting for?), and I noticed something… I found myself smiling whenever Jacob (Taylor) was onscreen. That’s the thing with Taylor Lautner - I *believe* that he is Jacob, the ray of sunlight in Bella’s life. He shines through the screen. Let’s hope they let him stay… !!

I’m like praying that he gets the role. I like Taylor. I think he can do it. He is much better then the other option, Micheal, and Stephen Strait is out of the question now.
