He’s lookin’ quite sexy, but I didn’t like how the dialog was left out. I really didn’t get what was going on…and he wasn’t in it long enough!!

Um, I didn’t even see Rob? Unless Rob was the person she was dancing with? If so, his hottness has magnified. I hate Rob.

Yeah, the music was in the way and the movie looks stupid. I hope he only has a small part since it doesn’t look that good. But he does look great. :)

Em are ye positively sure it’s a trailer. It looks like some fan made trailer. No dialogue, no status of release, film titles, actor credits: The usual stuff seen in a trailer.
It was more like someone shoved a bunch of clips together and put on some bohemian, meloncholy track to carry the visuals. I mean seriously, correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty certain that’s not an official trailer!

I found this and it looks like it’s a short..

      Synopsis
The Summer House is about a moment in a young girl’s life. A turning point, a time for decision: to go back, or go forward?

Jane (17) is in rural France visiting her aunt Priscilla during the hot summer of 1969, the year of the Moon landings. Also staying at this beautiful 19th century chateau, a sleeping beauty of a house, are her aunt’s old flame Freddie Porteous, a charming Englishman, and his wife Marie Pierre, a French woman of great sophistication and beauty.

Jane has left behind an unfaithful first love. Several letters have pursued her, letters decorated with hearts to tempt her. The author of these letters, Richard (18), turns up uninvited. Jane is unaware that her situation is provoking tensions among the older generation, she catches whispers of unspoken somethings at the heart of Freddie and Priscilla’s relationship and she finds Marie Pierre’s allure and passion unsettling.

Jane looks to her role models for advice but Priscilla, Freddie and Marie Pierre have become wrapped up in their own giddy feelings about what it was like to be 17 and in love. At a party to celebrate the moon landings Jane is transformed by Marie Pierre from English mouse to sophisticated woman. Wanting to impress and suspecting Richard might be at the party she holds her head high.

Dizzy from dancing and emboldened by champagne Jane ventures out to the Summer House. Curiosity has got the better of her. Is there a dalliance between her sensible aunt and charismatic Freddie? Instead she is confronted a repentant Richard. He wants her back. She is impossibly tempted, but repelled by his crude attempt to force her.
The romantic ideal of young love becomes crushed by his rough desire and by the giggling arrival of Priscilla and Freddie. Jane is forced to face the disappointment of reality. Troubled by Richard’s motivation and by the apparent immaturity of Priscilla & Freddie, she burns the unopened letters and drops them into a deep well. Her world has changed, expanded; a more complex fairy tale is emerging…

That girl in “The Summer House” was in Pride n Prejudice! shge played one of the younger sisters but she was the really quiet shy one! I like her! AND ROB looks smoking sexy in that!dang!

      January 6th, 2009 at 11:05 am

yeah I don’t think it was a v. good trailer-no dialogue and Rob was in shadow most of the time :(

looks hott… hmmm is it going to be in theaters?? I might see it, might, not sure yet.. and i looked at the films credits and apparently there are only 6 people cast in the entire thing. How long is the movie i wonder…

    17. Sophie Cullen Says:
      January 6th, 2009 at 11:46 am

Nah, it won’t be in theaters. The movie is only 12 minutes long. It’s an indie-short. It looks good though. I enjoy shorts. I hope iTunes has it available when it comes out!

Also, yeah, I’d love to be playing that girl. Obvious reasons, of course…

I looked on the Summer House site, and it said it would be out April ‘09. Are you all sure it’s not a full flick? That’s kinda silly…

This is the films’ official website

      http://www.thesummerhousefilm.com/

It doesn’t give much more info regarding the movie however. According to imdb.com it’s running time is 12 minutes. You can sign up for more info through the movie’s website though.

The trailer has been out for over a year. Its a small indie Euro film. We will probably never see it in the states.

    22. Amy Says:
      January 6th, 2009 at 1:38 pm

The film is most certainly considered shorts. Its only 12 minutes long but really pretty and filmed in France and if you have the chance, you should see it.

      Wow…

Not for nothing but his scene in the trailer was the best, haha.

The rest was kind of confusing unless you’ve read the synopsis already. I’m actually interested in seeing this one. I was curious about it when we found out last year.

    37. Morgan Says:
      January 6th, 2009 at 6:32 pm

mannnnnnn, why make it a short film? it looks like it could be a good full length movie. i would be interested in seeing the whole thing, except for the fact that it would leave me wanting to see more. =(

p.s. it is true that Rob’s sexiness is magnified greatly, but that has nothing to do with my interest in the movie XD

    38. Janine Says:
      January 6th, 2009 at 6:44 pm

Is this movie going to be in theatres?
If so, what is the rating??

      And can I say, OME!

    39. Cheyenne Cullen Says:
      January 6th, 2009 at 6:51 pm

Er, that was… confusing. Why would they show people talking, if we can’t hear what they’re saying? And 12 minutes? Thats ridiclous! Even SpongeBob is longer than that! I plan on seeing it just for Rob, but I’m not expecting much. Who knows, though. Maybe the movie will be interesting. At least Rob looked hot!

    40. Carrie Says:
      January 6th, 2009 at 7:11 pm

That “trailer” has been out for a long time. And I heard that this was a short movie, not feature length (that was a response to a question someone wrote). But I could be wrong.

I wish it was more “trailerish” than just some scenes cut short and put together. It doesn’t really look that interesting though, sadly to say.

    54. Alexis Says:
      January 7th, 2009 at 7:00 am

That’s Mary from Pride & Prejudice!
And I thought the scene with Rob was a little…awkward, but the film looks fairly interesting.

I was surprised too when I realized which actress it was. She’s adorable.

Guessing this will be making the rounds of the film festivals for 2009.

I’d be interested in reading the book.

      guys.
a few things about this movie.
its a short film, meaning it was made purely for artistic purposes and not really for profit.
not all movies have to be 2 hours long, action packed, “two thumbs up”, and advertised on every tv station.
i actually really respect Rob for being in this. he’s not all about the huge franchises, but a good story and artisic value as well.

    61. Amanda Says:
      January 9th, 2009 at 3:22 pm

is the movie really only 12 mins long? i hope not because it looks so good even though rob’s only in it for a short amount of time

his sideburns are sexy in this… hahaha… im upset that he’s decided to take smaller parts again, and what he should be doing is going for larger roles, like that in Salvador Dali. Did anyone here go see that? i want to see it just for Rob. I also hate that he has almost no part, and in the preview you can’t even hear his vioce. I love twilightlexicon!

    64. Maddie Says:
      January 28th, 2009 at 4:38 am

I will see it (for rob )not just becouse he is sexy but no one realizes how great of a actor he is but i cant believe its only for 12 mins thats why i am only seeing it becouse of rob but if it went for like 1hr i would see it for the acctuall story
