Love Letters Contest
By Twilight_News | January 28, 2009

In order to celebrate Valentines Day we thought we’d do a bit of a character love letter contest. Here’s how to enter:
- Write a love letter from one Twilight Saga character to another.
- You can write from either the male or female perspective in the following pairings:
- Edward and Bella
- Carlisle and Esme
- Jasper and Alice
- Emmett and Rosalie
- There is no minimum length, but the maximum length is 200 words.
- Each entry must be written letter style with a greeting and closing. The greeting (Dear Whoever) and the closing (Love Whoever) don’t count as part of the 200 words.
- The love letter may take place in any time period past, present, or future.
- The winner in each pairing (in other words 4 winners) will receive the item of their choice from the Twilight Lexicon Cafepress Shop.
- Send your entries to twilightlexiconcontest@gmail.
com - The subject of the email must have the pairing listed
- Any questions, post them on this entry because chances are someone else has the same question and the info could help them.
- Entries are due by 11:59 pm EST February 10, 2009.

Can you enter a letter for each pair?
You can enter one for each pair, so yes in other words you can submit more than one entry.
January 28th, 2009 at 12:52 pm
Yeah, same question as Lynn.
January 28th, 2009 at 12:54 pm
Does the letter need to be in body of text in the e-mail? Or can it be an attachment?
The letter should be in the text of text email, not as an attachment.

you should add one with Renesmee and Jacob!
We thought about that, but given that we don’t know enough about what an adult Renesmee is like, we left it out.

It sounds cool. I might enter
January 28th, 2009 at 2:27 pm
Do you want us to put our username in the email?
You may enter under a user or real name, whatever you are more comfortable with. We will ask winners how they prefer to be referred to prior to posting their entry and name.

So this is just a competition for the people living in the US?
As long as you are living on planet earth, if you win we will get your prize to you. Sorry, but NASA refuses to ship to the space station :p.

I can’t wait to read the winning letters!
January 28th, 2009 at 5:21 pm
Are we going to be able to read the winning letters?
Yep. We hope to have the winning letters posted on Valentine’s Day.
January 28th, 2009 at 5:38 pm
I understand that the greeting doesn’t count as the words, but does the greeting have to be “Dear –” “Love –” or can it be something more sincere like “My Dearest–” “Your’s always –”?
Yes, you may alter the greeting and closing to fit what you think the character would say.
January 28th, 2009 at 5:39 pm
Can people outside the USA and Canada enter (im from Australia!)
Not a problem. It will probably take a little longer to ship there, and if an Aussie wins we would ask that you be patient with the longer shipping, but you may enter.

January 28th, 2009 at 8:18 pm
when we finish putting in the letter can we put at the bottom what part of the story we based the letter off of?
Sorry just the letter. Of course there’s nothing wrong with you then using it as a jumping off piece for fanfiction and putting it up on another site.
January 28th, 2009 at 9:50 pm
we can only submit one letter for each pair right?
correct, up to one per pairing. In other words each person is allowed to enter each category once.
January 28th, 2009 at 10:28 pm
does it have o be EXACTLY 200 words, or just around that length?
no minimum, but a 200 maximum
January 28th, 2009 at 11:07 pm
Good to know aussies can enter!!
Cant wait.
will write some when i get home form school.
January 29th, 2009 at 12:30 am
sorry i phrased that first question wrong…i meant does the MAXIMUM have to be EXACTLY 200 words?
like, can it go over by a couple words?
January 29th, 2009 at 12:53 am
I love the idea… but I think that Esme and Carlisle should be included… everything seems to always be about the six “kids”. Esme and Carlisle are very much apart of the family… CARLISLE started the family… (sorry I’m and Esme and Carlisle fan… just as much as a Alice and Jasper Fan… lol)
January 29th, 2009 at 1:07 am
Never mind… I just saw them on the list… I’m a little slow this tonight. Sorry.
January 29th, 2009 at 9:04 am

oooh this is so exciting! i love doing stuff like this! quick question, if its hard for people to tell whats happening in the story when we wrote it, can we put like a sentence or two about when this what would be going on when the letter was written?
January 31st, 2009 at 9:28 am
