Life Bio (500-2000 words):   Because of his father’s work, Jackson Rathbone was born in Singapore, and then lived in Maydan and Jakarta (Indonesia), London, Connecticut, California, Norway, and finally settled in Midland, Texas. Jackson immediately began involvement in the local community theatre and was accepted into the youth actors program, The Pickwick Players. He was highly active in many extra-curricular activities, including basketball, track, soccer, baseball, and football. He even started a band and a mobile DJ business. Juggling so many activities began to become a chore so Jackson decided to stick with what made him the happiest, acting and music. In high school, he moved to Northwest Michigan to attend the prestigious Interlochen Arts Academy as a theatre major. He grew to appreciate classical theatre and flourished in Shakespearean plays.   His best friend from Interlochen, singer/actor Alex Boyd, had already moved to LA and introduced Jackson to his manager, Pat Cutler, who signed Jackson right away. She sent him to study film acting with Jeremiah Comey and on auditions where he landed a recurring role on Disney 411. He was soon signed by at Paradigm, by Andrew Ruff. When the fall came, Jackson, Pat, and Andrew realized that it would be best for Jackson to stay in LA and pursue a film career. He settled in for the long haul and roomed with his friend Alex, with plans to start a music studio. Jackson booked several commercials and a minor role in the film from William Katt, Molding Clay which shot near his hometown in TX. In his off-time from acting, Jackson continued to write music with Alex, performing at small open-mic nights and booking a gig at The Gardenia. They joined forces with other music producers in LA and San Diego to form Prolifik Productions and soon had a professional music studio built in their own living room. He next landed a lead in Pray for Morning , an independent thriller from writer/director Cartney Wearn. From there he went immediately into a series regular role in “Beautiful People”, a series for ABC Family Jackson jumped at the opportunity to join such a wonderful project with an incredible production team.   In what little free time he has, Jackson loves to watch and study movies, as well as listening to and studying music, which he has been doing most of his life.   Rathbone has recently formed a production company with his manager where he hopes to find interesting projects and eventually, one day, even direct.

Fun Facts:

Jackson: “I couldn’t do without my guitar, Annabelle. When I picked it out, I thought, ‘This is a great sounding Southern Resonator, and it needs an appropriate Southern girl’s name.”

Rathbone was chosen by Girl’s’ Life Magazine as "The Hottie" and has also been featured in Popstar and ELLEgirl.

He considers Michael Jackson’s Thriller a classic.

Jackson has three sisters.

Jackson started a band with his friend, Alex Boyd. He plays the guitar and the harmonica.

Some of Jackson’s favorite movies include Seven Samurai and Dead Man. And a few of his favorite artists include Bob Dylan, Modest Mouse, Spoon, Robert Johnson, John Lee Hooker, Steppin’ In It, and Bright Eyes.

Jackson’s hero is Johnny Depp, and he considers Jack Nicolson as his idol.

Jackson: I’m all about nightlife. I live during the night.

Jackson: (on being told he resembles Hugh Grant) Quite a bit actually. Yea that would be great,

where do I sign for that.

Jackson: (on when he learned how to box) When I was in elementary school, I was picked on by this kid a year older every morning at the bus stop. On picture day, he pushed me down so I jumped on his back and got into a scrape. My father taught me to box after that day.

Jackson: It’s not exactly that I can’t stay in one place. It’s that if I’m in one place, I have to rearrange it every four to six months! I have to completely change my room!

Stephenie’s comments on this person (if applicable):
“Jackson Rathbone can really play the guitar. Our taste in music is not exactly the same, but we found common ground with Radiohead’s Creep, with which he then serenaded me.”
